Ben attended Rice University as a National Merit Scholar, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Managerial Studies and Policy Studies. He subsequently worked for several years at a leading energy brokerage firm, helping to create and develop a group responsible for facilitating hundreds of millions of dollars in transactions involving over-the-counter derivatives products. Mr. Carpenter eventually left the energy industry and received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. After clerking for the Honorable Judge Levi Benton in the Harris County 215th District Court., he joined Daw & Ray, L.L.P., where he ultimately made Partner.
Mr. Carpenter has vast experience in all aspects of litigation, including personal injury, premises liability, real estate, construction defect, trucking, vehicle rollovers, fires and explosions, dram shop, debt collection, and product defect. His clients have included a wide variety of individuals, small and large businesses, insurance companies, and the single largest corporation in the world. He has taken a number of lawsuits to trial, including several multi-fatality cases wherein his clients were awarded complete defense verdicts.
Mr. Carpenter is admitted to practice law before all Federal District Courts in Texas. He is involved with the Blakely Advocacy Institute at the University of Houston Law Center, teaching courses in Trial Advocacy and Depositions as an adjunct professor, and serving as a judge for the Moot Court National Championships
